To Whom Does Healing Belong

In this article I present the essence of the teaching by Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin in his book “Healing Belongs to Us.” published by Faith Publications  (ISBN 0-89276-016-8). This booklet, I would call it as it is 68 pages of 3 inches  x 6 inches, pointed out the answers to many questions that I had about healing and I trust that it will do the same for you.
The teaching starts with the concern we have when healing does not come. It starts with the familiar appeal to a preacher;

“I have prayed and prayed. I have been in healing meetings all over the country and have been prayed for many times, but still I am not healed. Can you help me?” If you are a minister that  have prayed for the sick or if you have been prayed for regarding an illness, have you experienced that appeal? It is the appeal of someone who came for prayer for an illness but left just as they came – not healed.

So here are some of the questions that have been answered by the author through the scriptures and which I will summarize in this article and others to follow:

  • ·         Why is it that some are healed instantly why others trudge from place to place    seeking healing only to be disappointed time after time?

  • ·         Why is it that some who are pillars in the church often suffer for years while others who are less devout receive a sudden miracle from God (Elohim).

So this begs the question as to whether God is a respecter of persons. Other questions include whether we have failed in our approach to healing and lack understanding of what God's Word teaches on the subject. Let us see what God's word teaches on the subject.

The scripture tells us about the gifts of healings and there has been much emphasis and operations of these gifts. Let us look at what 1 Corinthians 12:8-10: "To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit;  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit;  to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.”

It is important that you understand this concerning this passage as Kenneth Hagin reminds us. There will be manifestations of these supernatural gifts when people preach them, teach them, believe in them, and yield to the spirit of Elohim; but these gifts are not always in operation. It must also be understood that an individual does not operate these supernatural gifts; they are manifested through the individual. So the individual must stay open for the manifestation of the Spirit of Elohim as He wills.

Be blessed until our next post, when I will discuss healing by exercising faith in Elohim’s Words and how we can claim them.
