The Power of Words

 The Power of Words

Introduction and Acknowledgement

I was wading through my old correspondence to do some housekeeping and came across a a 32 page booklet that was sent to me by Kenneth E. Hagin of Rhema Bible Church. It was a booklet entitled "Words" and I was so impressed by his reminder that I am anxious to take this opportunity to share some of the contents with you. The details of the booklet which I would encourage you to get a hold of if you can, are as follows: Words by Kenneth E. Hagin, 1979, Rhema Bible Church, Kenneth Hagin Ministries, Inc. ISBN 00-89276-057-5.

Talked to Death or Life

The first chapter opens with a quote from the book of Matthew.
"For by thy WORDS thou shalt be justified, and by thy WORDS thou shalt be condemned" (Matt. 12:37).
Words are more important than most of us realize realize.
Words make us or break us.
Words heal us or make us sick.
According to the scripture, words destroy us or make us full of life, happiness, and health. So the words we spoke yesterday made life what it is today.

Speak the right words because Jesus, (Yahooshua), said in Mark 11:23, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

What is Your Confession?

This scripture not only emphasis the power of faith but also the power of saying what you believe. Another verse that emphasizes the power of words is found in Hebrews 4:14, "Seeing that we have a great  high priest , that is passed into into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our profession."

The word translated "profession" in the King James version of the Bible, is the same Greek word translated "confession" elsewhere. This means that we must hold fast to saying the same thing, in other words, we must be consistent in what we say, we must not say one thing and then contradict it with saying something contrary to what we said before.

Here are some more scriptures to confirm the power of your words or confession.
Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Matthew 12:27, "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

Your WORDS are very important and you need to realize that. They set the boundaries of your life. You will never realize anything beyond the words you speak You will never have anything beyond your own words.
