Keys To Effective Prayer

Effective Powerful Prayers
The purpose of this blog is to marshal a team effective prayer warriors and intercessors to bring about change.  It is envisioned that many of the careless habits of prayer that have been adopted will be broken and that it will be understood that “freedom” does not mean carelessness.
“…the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

So here are some keys to effective powerful prayers that I have uncovered:

Be consistent with your time.
We have psychological body clocks that prompt us when certain times that we are in the habit of keeping come around. Some communities use a horn or siren to remind them that it is time to pray. We see examples of consistency in prayer time throughout the scripture but look at this example from the New Covenant.

“Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour” (Acts 3:1). This time would be between 3 PM and 4 PM since the first hour is reckoned from 6AM to 7AM.

Be Consistent and regular with prayer
Examples to follow are those set by the patriarchs of the Old Covenant. who were referred to as “friend of Yah.” Deep inner secrets are shared with friends. It was said of Moses ..,

”Thus Yah spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend” (Exodus 33:11). Another patriarch who was referred to in this manner is Abraham. “Abraham believed Elohim and it was reckoned to him for righteousness, and he was called Elohim’s friend” (James 2:23).

David writes in the Psalms, “The secret of Yah is with those who fear him and He makes His covenant known to them” Psalm 25:14.

Be Consistent and Regular Not Ritualistic
David gives an insight of the frequency with which he prayed.
He says, "Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments" (Psalm 119:164). But please pray with humility and sincerity. Yeshua reminds us that should pray with sincerity and humility.

“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard    because of their many words. Do not be like them for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him” (Matthew 6:7-8).

Forgive Those Who Have Wronged You
If you do not forgive those who have wronged you do not expect your heavenly father to forgive the wrongs that you have done to Him. “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 11:25).

In prayer ask in His name
We must make our request to the Heavenly Father but make it in the name of our intercessor, Yeshua. Many pray in the name of Jesus as they have been taught but that is not the name given to him by his Father through the angels. His true name is a weapon against our enemy the devil and so in order to be effective we should use His true name.
